Sophie Turner is opening up about how her friendship with Taylor Swift came to be.
The former "Game of Thrones" star, 28, revealed in a May 15 interview with British Vogue that she reached out to Swift first in September 2023 when she needed advice about a place to stay.
At the time, the news of Turner and husband Joe Jonas' divorce had just become public.
Turner contacted Swift and asked if she knew of anyone in New York City renting out an apartment. Swift then offered her home to Turner free of charge.
“I’ve never been more grateful to anyone than I am for her because she took my children and me, and provided us with a home and a safe space,” Turner said. “She really has a heart of gold.”
Once in the city, Turner was spotted out at dinner with Swift. She also described the singer to British Vogue as “an absolute hero” to her in her and her family's time of need.
In January 2024, Turner celebrated the "year of the girlies" with a collection of photos she posted on Instagram that showed her hanging out with friends, including a shot of her and the "Anti-Hero" singer, 34, at a Kansas City Chiefs game in October.
